This weekend, Radio Show Limited, the people behind Radio Le Mans, will be adding the Le Mans Series to their extensive live coverage of sportscar racing. Starting at the Monza event you'll be able to hear final qualifying and the whole race live at www.radiolemans.com.
This live coverage has been made possible by the support of Embassy Racing who have always been at the forefront of fan-friendly activity. Team Principal Jonathan France initiated Embassy Race Radio at British GT events and sees the Le Mans Series coverage as a natural extension of this commitment to the fans. "With nearly 50 cars and some of the best racing anywhere, Embassy Racing thought it was about time that the LMS was brought to a larger audience."
France floated the idea as long ago as last September at Silverstone, the UK round of the LMS. "When I think of live radio coverage I think of Radio Le Mans so I had a meeting with John Hindhaugh and offered our help to get this up and running."
"The Le Mans Series have kindly offered facilities at the circuits but, put simply, without Embassy Racing's help this would not have happened," said Hindhaugh, who is hopeful that the service will attract more support from the LMS paddock. "I'm slightly suprised that we have been unable to attract other sponsorship, especially from the manufacturers. Hopefully our presence at Monza this weekend will show everyone we are serious about this."
The Le Mans Series coverage is another new feature on the rapily expanding radiolemans.com site. "Since the relaunch of the site on March 11th we have seen impressive increases in visitors, " explains RSL Technical Director Carl Landsbert. "Over 100,000 unique users for the rest of March, nearly 66,000 listeners for our Sebring race coverage plus our archive section attracting thousands of downloads every month, makes radiolemans.com one of the top rated motorsport sites." Hindhaugh agrees "there's a new video section, latest sportscar headlines from DailySportscar.com, new car tests, really there's something for everyone."
Radio Le Mans regular Graham Tyler will be joining Hindhaugh in Italy. "The action in the pits is just as important as what happens on the circuit," said Tyler. "Both on and off the track, there's so much talent and so many characters in this series, so the pitlane is always a great place to be."
In addition to Tyler and Hindhaugh expect to hear DailySportscar.com Deputy Editor Graham Goodwin adding his insight to the broadcast.
The Le Mans Series coverage will be live on www.radiolemans.com, the on air schedule is posted on the LMS portion of the site. For more details of advertising and sponsorhip opportunities contact info@radiolemans.com
